Why all the red wine propaganda?
Why all this propaganda about red wine being good for you because of reservatrol and flavenoids when the same nutritionally beneficial compounds can be found in red grapes?
While red wine may be beneficial, unlike red grapes, red wine is easy to abuse, and when abused can cause severe health and societal problems.
Tanya what I meant by propaganda is you never hear the media talking about red grapes or pomegranates in such a big way as you hear them talking about red wine liquor in this regard. It’s about money.

True and to get the full benefit of reservatrol a person needs to drink 20 or more bottles per day. But the other key thing is "abuse." Anything is abused is going to be bad. Try drinking several gallons of water in a very short time. DEATH! Overeating carbohydrates cause weight gain and artery diseases. So give wine a fair chance here. A couple glasses of wine per day is healthy.
Well that’s why they say having one glass a day is good
b/c any more that that might get into being excessive
and really.. propaganda? lol just seems a little harsh
edit – I guess so but I do hear a lot about cranberries, pomegranates and green tea for antioxidants but I suppose more people like wine so they want an excuse to drink it… kind of like when everyone was going on and on about dark chocolate… everyone wants to think their vice is really good for them
I doubt the big bad vineyards are out to get you with their evil propaganda lol but you can believe that if you want, world keeps turnin
the propaganda which you’re referring to, also forgets all the substances which are used in the culture of grapes and elaboration of wine –
More than propaganda it’s frightening to see on US Answers the number of people talking about headaches, binge drinking, being drunk etc
Hunee, it’s mush eazier ot drik wine (hic!)…scuze me…hehehe…an th gripes leeve thoz litle seedz in yur mowf n stuf (hic)…skuz me…lol… I got abot haf a botl lef fi yu wna sum…
The reservatrol and flavenoids are only part of the picture. The ethanol itself also has many positive health effects… 1-2 glasses a day of beer is just as good for you as wine.
