what do baby grapes look like?
I have vines along our property that has large leaves and stems that look like grapes are growing on. My husband says they’re not, but the green muscadine grape is known to grow wild here, so I thought maybe I’ll ask.

A baby Grape looks like just that. A baby grape.
The grape vines form clusters of tiny green balls about 1/16th of an inch across, that are about 1/4 inch apart. These then get bigger as the grapes ripen. The red ones don’t start turning red until the grapes are about half of their final size.
you must look for the purple diapers!
My grapes are about the size of bird-shot now. If muscadine grapes grow in your area, you must be farther south and the individual grapes might be buckshot-sized. Look for the arrangement of the grapes on the stalk. That should be your best clur, other than the leaves and vines. Be advised, not every wild grape is suitable for eating or wine-making.
