I need sugestions of which red wines to get at the local liquor stores but I don’t know much about wine.
I’m a vegan so I need wines that complement a vegan diet.
I wanted to start drinking red wine because I have heard of health benefits. I also want to become more acquainted with red wines. I usually drink white wine. What is a good starter red wine that is not too dry or too sweet?
If so, which of all the red wines category can or best chilled to bring out the aromas and flavors?
What causes the low temp or room temp to bring out the flavors of red wines?
Is there a difference in aroma and taste if decanted after a brief chill?
What about Spanish wine from Spain?
What makes them special compared to other wine producing countries?
What is the best way to serve Spanish wine?
I love the sweet taste of riesling, and I have had some red wines in the past that I enjoyed but do not remember their names.
Which red wines would you recommend for people who like the sweet taste of a riesling?
(p.s. I know riesling is a white wine, but I want to start drinking more red wine)
Thanks!!
I am currently pretty angry, having found out that ineries routinely add Bismuth to red wines. It is known that the stuff causes gingivitis, liver and kidney trouble, ulcerations, exodermatitis, and blackens people’s tongues when reacting with body sulphur.
At least the black tongue is something it does give me, and if I kept drinking red wine, who knows about the rest.
Can somebody explain to me please what its function is in the wine?
It is indeed an Australian Shiraz, JavaJoe – but I’ve had this experience even with Argentine, Chilean, South African, French, Spanish, and Portuguese reds.
I have a white wine picked out cause I love white wine. But I don’t know ANYTHING about red wines & which ones taste good. Please help. ![]()
I had a Fontana Dolce red wine that had a sugar content number of 3. I was wondering what other red wines have higher numbers, 2 or 3.
I am a 21 year old boy (I look 6-7 years younger), I am 5′7", 105 lbs. I drink Australian Red Wine and other Red Wines (I rarely ever drink anything else like beer or liquor, etc., ONLY red wine), the other drinks I know age you, but Red Wine contains an antioxidant called Resveratrol. I drink red wine about 3 times a week, usually when my mom makes spaghetti or pasta or vegetables, etc. for dinner. I am a vegetarian. I eat light and only healthy foods. I am aware that it [Red Wine] has the resveratrol that has anti-aging properties, and can slow down cellular aging. Is this, the Red Wine, the only exception in alcohol (wine) that is OK to drink one glass a few times a week to avoid aging? Is this the only exception in alcohol that WILL NOT progress aging as opposed to other alcohol drinks like beer, whiskey, vodka, etc.? Is this a good idea to incorporate 1 glass of Red Wine with my dinner 3 times a week or so?
Also, so when I am 80, will I look much younger and still have my fountain of youth?
Lots of recent reports would have it that regularly drinking red wine spiffs up your health, because of the "resveratrol" in them. After being a teetotaller for many years, I took up slurping red wines (primarily the fairly decent plonks Carlo Rossi Paisano and Chianti). I’ve been doing up large glasses of wine four times a week, each about 8 ounces. This is apparently enough for health benefits, plus people have been shown in studies to think better after moderate amounts of alcohol (with emphasis on "moderate", which obviously precludes lurching bouts of sheer drunkenness).

But one does worry about little alcohol soldiers marching about and slaughtering brain cells if one should, say, occasionally laugh gleefully and down not one, but two in a row of those extra-sized McGlasses of plonk. Is there any basis for worrying like an old lady about it?

Im about 21 and recently have been interested in wine. I drink socially with my friends and spend about £10-15 on a bottle of wine. I only like red wines and would like to know some key tips and general information that will help scrub up my wine knowledge. Thanks.
Usual red wines are quite sour for me.
I am trying to find the best quality red wine that is also sweet.
My husband and I would like to start drinking a glass of red wine each day for the health benefits that red wine is supposed to provide. However, we haven’t like the taste of any of the red wines we have tried. We aren’t really alcohol drinkers, but can stand the taste of white wine. What would be a good red wine for us to drink that will taste good and still give us the health benefits?
Thanks. What are some examples of sweet red wine varieties?
