I was given a grape vine from a neighbor as a gift. It was about 4+ years old and this year was its first year producing. I was told it was a Thompson Seedless… well they are almost ready to eat and I gave one a try. Its still a bit tart, and the center kind of oozed out as a lump and not a juicy thompson at all. Also, the most obvious, it had 3 rather large seeds inside. The outside of the skin is spotted with brown, and the skin is a bit tougher.
I do know for sure it is NOT a muscadine grape as they are 1/2 the size of a muscadine which are common and grow wild around here in NC. The muscadines are also a more bronze color more so then actually being green like these grapes are. The vine is also more like the winery grapes I’ve seen traveling, and not the muscadine type of vines that are bulky and grow the grapes in small clusters rather then larger groupings like ours is.
Is there a certain thing I should look for on the vine or leaves to tell more? Or is there something I should be able to pick up in the taste to help point me in the right direction? I’m guessing it probably a common wine grape of some sort.

I have vines along our property that has large leaves and stems that look like grapes are growing on. My husband says they’re not, but the green muscadine grape is known to grow wild here, so I thought maybe I’ll ask.
i know it can help, just like resveratrol can knock out many cancers. The japanese use the root of the knotweed plant and here in the states they use the muscadine grape, at the muscadine wineries. You might google "Preclinical and clinical trials of resveratrol on cancer" and pull up the 58 page report. I know the stuff works as a friend was given 3 months to live and it’ s been over three years now and ok. The only draw back is the resveratrol puts more 02 in the system and acts like Viagra on men.
I understand the drawbacks to pot use and if legalized it could be more accessable to kids. But still wondering if they grow their own or the state govenment grows it.
I found some made from the muscadine grape at the Old South winery in Natchez, but all the rest that all the other vitamin companies is made from the root of the knotweed plant and I have been told it is imported from China. I contacted the research doctor at M. D. Anderson cancer Center and he e-mail back some regular vitamin suppliers. i know they use pharmacutical grade from Canada but cannnot find out.. Thanks for any help.
