I have a recipe that calls for a few tablespoons of red wine vinegar. (it’s actually for a grilled vegetable terrine.) Can I use balsamic vinegar instead? I have a feeling that it will work well and I also don’t want to run to the store to buy a whole bottle of red wine vinegar but I wonder if I will be completely changing the taste. It’s my first time trying the recipe out. What do you think?
thanks!
Need to buy a bottle of Red Wine
I need it to have the sharp taste, but with a good price?

The moroccan bottle of red wine has the Statue of Liberty embossed on the back. It was made to commemorate the World Cup USA94. It has Les Celliers de Meknes printed on the front with a printed Statue of Liberty holding a soccer ball. Any ideas of how much this would be worth to a collector?
Opened then corked.. and kept at room temperature… I know you can use it as cooking wine.. but when does the flavor start to change so that it becomes undrinkable?? And what is the best way to keep a open bottle of red wine?
I have no red wine vinegar, but I have white distilled vinegar and I have a bottle of red wine. Anyway I can mix the two and approximate the taste of red wine vinegar?
No, I was not drinking in my car. I left a bottle of red wine on the front seat after shopping and parked the car under blistering sun. This made the bottle cork explode and spill wine all over the car seat. I tried to wash off with water, but as I said stain not gone. Any advice? Also the stain must be dry now….Thanks.
I have a 29 year old bottle of red wine that was given to me on my wedding day (2 years ago) I have been keeping it in my kitchen as a keepsake, storing it on a window ledge inside. If I opened it, will it be GROSS?
I’m not a wine drinker but I want to buy a bottle of red wine (less than ) from my local liquor store.
Thanks everyone for your suggestions!
I was given a bottle of red wine for my birthday (late september) that I’ve only drank one glass from, but have kept it refrigerated and corked. Is it still good? I also have another bottle that I received at the end of a Thanksgiving party that is half full, and has also been properly corked after it was openned. Are either of these bottles still good? Or should I just dump them?
I just opened a bottle of red wine that I had lying around and, much to my surprise, it’s sparkling. I was going to drink some tonight and use the rest tomorrow in a pasta sauce. Now (and this might sound a little silly) will the fact that the wine is fizzy have any effect on the sauce? I don’t want my dinner to taste fizzy!
It is proper wine, not a wine cooler.
Hi. I feel terrible cuz I’ve been trying to get a six pack? But yesterday I tried to get this chick drunk and in the process I drank a whole bottle of red wine or merlot or whatever. So any idea how many calories that is?
I opened a bottle of red wine (cabinet) about six months ago and there were about half of bottle remaining so I corked it back into the bottle. Last night I poured some out of the same bottle and it appears that the color of the wine has changed to deep darkish red/brown colour along with lots of particals. What is that and is it safe to drink in that condition. How do I prevent that from happening in the future? Maybe the cork’s mass is not air tight enough caused the wine to degrade? Is there a self life for wine after all?
I need to buy a bottle of red wine that can go with every type of meal in my house. Someone said that I should buy a Beaujolais. I am a wine dummy, so can someone educate me?
I have heard if you chill a bottle of red wine its original characteristics will be restored.
Ok I’ve looked up this question already but the answers are confusing for me. So if I open a bottle of red wine, and re-cork it shortly after, and choose not to store it in a refrigerator, how long will it last? Also, if the bottle has not been re-corked, how long will it last before it goes bad?
After I opened a bottle of red wine, Do I have to drink all during the day or can I have some and then retap the bottle and the wine won’t ruin ?

I am looking for a good bottle of red wine that isn’t dry. I want something that is fruity and a bit sweet. And not those types like Arbor Mist, etc. Not too expensive either. Would appreciate your responses.
I just got a bottle of red wine (Pinot Noir) that I plan on drinking tonight. I heard it should be stored in a cool place. The weather here is about 75F. Should I store it in the fridge for the next 5 or 6 hours or is that a bad idea?
I have an opened bottle of red wine that has been sitting at room temperature opened for a few months. Is it ok to drink?
I came home tonight and my cats had knocked a bottle of red wine from the top of my fridge onto my ceramic tile floor. I’m really worried about the grout because I rent. I got down and scrubbed it with Clorox OxiMagic but it still looks very dingy. Does anyone know of a better way to clean it?
Thanks!
I have this bottle of red wine that’s been opened for over a week. I don’t want to drink it, but I don’t wnt to toss it out. Is there anything easy that I can cook that needs red wine?
It’s a merlot.
I was reading an article online that said resveratrol was the chemical in red wine that kept your heart healthy. I’m looking on the internet for pills of it, but I would like to know how much is typical in a bottle of red wine to understand which supplements are providing a significant amount.
after opening a bottle of red wine how long until it goes bad? or it doesn’t go bad?
