Although many people are already aware of Resveratrol and its many benefits, having been in the market for about 20 years now, some are still unsure of the specific benefits it contains, especially its impact on your heart and cardiovascular health.
Heart disease is the number one killer in the United States today. Even if it doesn’t cause death, many people can become severly disabled after a heart attack or stroke. Because of this, people are looking for more and more ways to avoid or prevent a heart attack or heart disease. Keeping your heart and cardiovascular system healthy is of foremost importance in avoiding heart problems. Even with the recent changes in fast food and healthy-eating , many people are still looking for something fast and tasty. And we all know the phrase ‘Everything that tastes good is bad for us’. This can be applied to a lot of foods that are high in cholesterol that adversely affects our heart. However, with recent discoveries in antioxidant super foods and supplements, Resveratrol has come to light as one of these supplements that could prevent heart disease and even help those already on their way.
Much of what is known about Resveratrol and its impact on the heart has been done through research. Scientists have been hard at work doing clinical trials and experiments on this supplement to better understand and know exactly what it does to the human body when consumed. Some experiments done in the University of Wisconsin have shown that Resveratrol appears to make the heart younger, and thus function as if you are in your youth again, stronger and better. It also fights off age-related diseases and failure. How exactly does Resveratrol do this?
It contains anti-aging agents that activate genes in the body to keep organs, including the heart, younger and healthier. By taking Resveratrol, your body goes through something similar to a calorie restricted diet, which then inhibits the gene expression associated with heart failure and disease in the elderly. Another study showed that triglyceride, which is a chemical that may cause heart disease, had been reduced by as much as 15% in women who were given a grape powder supplement that contained Resveratrol.
Another major discovery with Resveratrol, and a huge advancement, is that it has been proven to prevent blood clots in the heart, thus protecting it and staving off heart attacks and stroke. How was this proven? Those given a supplement showed that blood flow to the brain was increased by up to 30%. It also showed, in another study, to have prevented the formation of blood platelets which still increased blood flow. These subjects were even administered a blood clotting agent and Resveratrol was still able to stop clotting.
However, the most incredible effect Resveratrol has to offer is the fact that it can cause the growth of new blood vessels off of already existing ones and even spontaneous formations. What is so amazing about this? It’s like a natural bypass surgery! In the case that one vessel becomes blocked, Resveratrol has created others so blood flow isn’t stopped or slowed. As you can tell, Resveratrol has proven itself very capable of preventing, slowing or stopping heart attacks, heart disease and strokes.
