English is a crazy language-star if u like this?
English is a crazy language. There’s no egg in eggplant nor ham in hamburger;neither apple nor pine in pineapple.English muffins weren’t invented in England or french fries in France.Sweetmeats are tofees while sweetbreads, which aren’t sweet are meat.
We take english for granted but if we explore its paradoxes,we fing that quicksand can work slowly
boxing rings are square
and a guinea pig is neither from Guinea or a pig.
if the plural of tooth is teeth,y isnt the plural of booth beeth?
one goose, two geese.so one mouse two meese?
one index,two indices?
English was invented by people, not computers, and it reflects the creativity of the human race(which,of course isn’t a race at all)!

Heard it before from our english teacher… Still gives me headaches coz I headed the debate club back then and it was MY job to defend those stupid paradoxes from the blight that was the American English language.
HAH!!! She may be a "cunning linguist" but I am a "master debater" (LOL!!!)
Just so you know, British English has more discrepancies and paradoxes than American english.
*ouch!*
For example… Why is a Police officer called a "COP" in America while in England they are called "BOBBIES"???
In England, trucks are called Lorries,
local crazies are said to be "in sixes and sevens"
and "taking a dump" is called "shatting"
Yes the English language is confusing *Stars*
This is cool.
its not crazy ………we call creative
Is this a question or a grammar lesson?
lol, awesome funny star for u!
That’s very clever, and interesting, and amusing. I’m starring that, and printing it and reading it to my friends.
stars to you
;p
never saw it like that neat
i like this but one thing though
the human race does exist because people try every day to get to the top. so it’s a race to the finish or to be the best!
Awesome
so true.
Good one lol
!!!
interesting.
Really funny.English is odd AND creative. But I still love it!!
i think the language is interesting
that is why the English language is one of the hardest to learn unless you are born in to it. many words sound alike, but are spelled differently and mean different things. example – to, too, two; one, won; urn, earn; time, thyme; be, bee; so, sew, sow; tee, tea; air, heir; by, bye, buy; knead, need; hair, hare; the list goes on – makes it interesting.
hmmm…never thought of that
lol
Ha! Gotta give that one to my English teacher…
I heard this before… for a book or something.
A star for you!
