Looking for the best anti aging supplement that not only focuses on health but skin.

I am 26 yrs old, 6 foot 3 inches, and about 250 lbs. Since the beginning of the year I have been lifting weights and running nearly 4 times a week and have since lost 20 lbs or so. I quit smoking 12 days ago and have another 20-30 days before I have to test for the job opportunity of a life time. I am currently taking a 7 day cleansing program from the health store and taking butt loads of vits daily(niacin, cranberry, B-complex, C, E, Resveratrol, Protein shakes, Glucosamine Condroitin and MSN). I also drink a minimum of a gallon of H2O daily. I have smoked the best chronic around several times daily for years though. I am EXTREMELY WORRIED that I could still fail due to the amount I’ve smoked in the past and that I have a high percentage of body fat (where the THC hides) THANKS FOR ANY INPUT

I drink wine purely for the health benefit and because it helps me sleep. Because of this, I drink very moderately and it takes me a week or two to finish a bottle. Towards the end of the bottle, the taste becomes very bad tasting like vinegar. However, since it all tastes quite nasty to me, it doesn’t bother me too much.

Now, I understand that flavonoids and trans-resveratrol are among a few of many compounds in wine that may contribute to health benefit. I also know that the spoiled taste is a result of an increase in acetobacter, a bacteria that is inherent in the wine and will grow rapidly after the wine is exposed to air. The acetobacter increases the concentration of acetic acid, which is what I’m tasting.

My question is, does the increased presence of acetobacter, or the acetic acid make the wine unhealthy, or perhaps even affect the other compounds (i.e. trans-resveratrol is highly sensitive to oxygen) to the point where drinking spoiled wine becomes unhealthy OR are the health benefits exactly the same but the wine simply tastes worse?
But… fruit juice doesn’t have trans-resveratrol which is one of the main compounds that prevents aging and disease, and fruit juice doesn’t help me sleep. Due to the fermentation process, only wine has a significant source of trans-resveratrol. Also, just as an fyi, acetobacter is in ALL WINE, and acetic acid is what gives vinegar its taste. I’m just asking if this destroys the other compounds that makes wine healthy.

I have read countless articles online and in health-related magazines that Resveratrol is one of the most potent antioxidants out there (not to mention that it helps you lose weight, improves skin conditions, and countless other benefits), and really want to try one of the supplements available out there. Problem is, there’s so many.

I’m looking for one that actually produces results please!

Fall is coming, and like many teenagers, I’m wary of the swine flu as well as the usual flu risk. I’m in healthy shape, but I’d like to make sure my defenses are top notch. After some research I’ve compiled a list of substances that will supposedly be beneficial. I was just wondering if it is best to get these from natural sources or if its safe to take supplements, in what dosages, and if a combination of these substances is safe. They include -

Vitamin D – Absorbed from sun exposure but is also found in fish and available in supplements.

Resveratrol – Most highly concentrated natural source is grape skins, but some recommend taking a supplement.

Quercetin – Naturally occurring in red grapes, apples, and onions but can be taken as a supplement.

Beta Glucan – Found in oats and grains.

N-Acetyl Cysteine – Available as a supplement, clinically proven to boost resistance to influenza.

Vitamins B6 and E

Last but not least, the most popular, Vitamin C.

Are all of these safe for a teenager to take daily? If they are, what are the safe recommended dosages, and in what forms should they be consumed, be it natural or supplement forms?

Thanks!

there is this pill my freinds are using to lose weight and i didnt want to have any health problems

Pinot Noir from Oregon is the best source of resveratrol, which has been proven to extend the life span of rats by 50%. (I hope it works as well for Rays as for rats.)

I sip the wine, holding each sip in my mouth until it dissolves. Resveratrol can be absorbed through the mouth (through the cheeks and under the tongue), but if you just gulp it down, it gets destroyed by stomach acid.

More than half a glass of wine a day would do more harm than good. Excess alcohol destroys the liver. The human liver, when it’s healthy and well-nourished, is the greatest pharmaceutical factory in the world. It makes all kinds of biochemicals that improve health.

"Most of the resveratrol in imbibed red wine does not reach the circulation." Further, "Interestingly, absorption via the mucous membranes in the mouth can result in up to around 100 times the blood levels, if done slowly rather than simply gulping it down."

It is a question. Your "answer" is not an answer. Legitimate Answerers can respond with other ideas on the best sources for reserveratrol, or with arguments against reservertrol.

This is not an advertisement. I’m not selling anything. I’m sharing information about improving health through alternate medicine. My motivation is that healthier people will mean lower Medicare taxes for me when I’m 106 and still working as a biochemist. (I plan to go back to college to study biochemistry when I retire at age 62 in 2012.)
To paraphrase Hamlet:

Go, go, you [answer] with a wicked tongue.

Hi yahoo answers… Tell me where I can get this resveratrol supplement .. Is anybody use that resveratrol supplement .. Is that good for health .. Is that really prevent the cancer, blood sugar, inflammatory ..

What health benefits have you noticed?

Resveratrol is the molecule found in the skin of red grapes (and red wine) that is receiving so much at attention as a health supplement. Where can I obtain high quality resveratrol at a reasonable price?

If so? Have you seen and major health improvements? Are you living a better life since taking Resveratrol?

the average life span of humans has doubled in the past 1000 years because of improvements in health care including everything from clean water, antibiotics, vaccines, sterile surgical environments, etc….

since we take vitamins, vaccines, antibiotics and interfere in every other way we can to extend life, would you take a pill to possibly double you life span if you could live in good health.

by the way, this is in the near future and proven to be possible.

What kind of jelly at the grocery store has the most resveratrol in it? What about jelly at a health food store?

Does just the plain concorde grape jelly have any?
